你的钱

Tax credit for blind access technology — up to $2,000

You could get back what you pay out of pocket for hardware or software that turns visual information into a form a blind person can use. It covers you, your spouse, or a dependent, up to $2,000 per blind person every three years.

透明度与问责制

Built-in expiration date — credit ends after 2030

The credit would cover costs only in tax years 2026 through 2030. Congress would have to vote again to keep it going.

关于本法案的更多内容

If you, your spouse, or a dependent is blind, you could get a federal tax credit for tech that makes visual information usable. It covers hardware or software you pay for yourself, up to $2,000 per blind person every three years. The credit is refundable, so you could get the money even if you owe no income tax. The credit would start with the 2026 tax year. Starting in 2027, the $2,000 cap would rise with inflation. You could not claim costs that insurance pays for. You also could not claim costs you already deduct or get another tax credit for. The credit would end after the 2030 tax year. Who counts as blind follows the tax code's existing definition.

国会摘要

Access Technology Affordability Act of 2025 This bill allows a refundable federal tax credit, through 2030, equal to the amounts paid for qualified access technology for use by a blind individual who is the taxpayer, the taxpayer's spouse, or a dependent of the taxpayer. (Limits apply.) The bill defines qualified access technology as hardware, software, or other information technology with the primary function of converting or adapting information that is visually represented into forms or formats usable by blind individuals. The tax credit is limited to (1) amounts paid that are not compensated by insurance or otherwise, and (2) an aggregate amount of $2,000 (adjusted for inflation) per blind individual in any period of three consecutive taxable years.
