你的钱
You could get back what you pay yourself for hardware or software that lets a blind person use visual information. It covers you, your spouse, or a dependent. The limit is $2,000 per blind person every three years, and you get it even if you owe no tax.
透明度与问责制
The credit would cover costs only in tax years 2026 through 2030. Congress would have to vote again to keep it going after that.
关于本法案的更多内容
If you, your spouse, or a dependent is blind, you could get a federal tax credit. It would cover tech that turns visual information into a form a blind person can use. This can be hardware, software, or other tech you pay for yourself. The credit could reach $2,000 per blind person in any three-year stretch. It is refundable, so you could get the money even if you owe no income tax. The credit would start with the 2026 tax year. After 2026, the $2,000 limit would rise with inflation. You could not claim costs that insurance or someone else pays for. You also could not use it for a cost the tax code lets you deduct or claim another credit for. The credit would end after the 2030 tax year. Who counts as blind follows the tax code's existing definition.
国会摘要
Access Technology Affordability Act of 2025 This bill allows a refundable federal tax credit, through 2030, equal to the amounts paid for qualified access technology for use by a blind individual who is the taxpayer, the taxpayer's spouse, or a dependent of the taxpayer. (Limits apply.) The bill defines qualified access technology as hardware, software, or other information technology with the primary function of converting or adapting information that is visually represented into forms or formats usable by blind individuals. The tax credit is limited to (1) amounts paid that are not compensated by insurance or otherwise, and (2) an aggregate amount of $2,000 (adjusted for inflation) per blind individual in any period of three consecutive taxable years.
