Nothing you deal with day to day would change. The work here is bookkeeping on the law books. In 2022, three big sets of rules moved into a new spot in the federal code. Newer laws have changed those same rules since then. This one copies the changes into their new spot. The three areas are agency watchdogs, federal advisory panels, and ethics and money rules. Some fixes are tiny. A stray comma. Three misspelled words. A wrong date. Most of the rest swap old law names for the new code numbers. Some copied text does look weighty. One part sets out how a president must tell Congress before firing an agency watchdog. Another puts federal judges' money reports in a public online database. Both have been law since 2022. Nothing new starts here. The text says outright that it does not change the meaning or effect of any law. Where two laws made the same fix twice, the spare copy comes out. Each copied change keeps the date it first became law.
