YourVoice.Now Summary
Extra $1 million a year for states to run three food-aid programs — food benefits themselves stay the same
The details
If you or someone you know gets free food through three federal food programs, your benefits would not change. Instead, states would get extra money to cover the cost of running those programs. The bill would allow $1 million a year for 2026 through 2030. Congress would still have to approve the actual money in a later spending bill. The money would be split three ways. Seventy percent, or $700,000 a year, would go to the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Twenty percent, or $200,000, would go to the Emergency Food Assistance Program. Ten percent, or $100,000, would go to the Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program. This money would add to what is already set aside for these costs.
Congressional Summary
