More about this bill
Most people would notice no change in daily life. The bill would direct U.S. trade officials to push for a new travel and tourism group under the trade deal with Canada and Mexico. That push would come at the first joint review of the deal after the bill became law. The group would bring together officials from all three countries. On the U.S. side it would draw from seven named agencies, plus any others the President picks. It would meet at least once a year. It would have to ask the travel industry for advice, including a federal travel advisory board. U.S. members would brief four committees of Congress on the group's work. The bill sets aside no money. It changes no trade rule, no visa rule, and no travel price. Whether the group ever forms is up to Canada and Mexico too.
