YourVoice.Now Summary
The President's fitness council would go into law — it could only give advice, so nothing would change for schools or families.
The details
Most people would see no change in daily life. The President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition would be written into law. Today it exists only because of an order the President signed in July 2025. A later President could undo that order. The bill would still let the President pick the date the council shuts down. The President would choose up to 30 members. They would serve two-year terms without pay. The council would advise, not decide. The version the House passed on September 16, 2026 names ten things the council would have to recommend. Four of them are new. One is fitness measures adapted for students of differing abilities. One is the rising cost of youth sports. One is wider access to sports for youth with disabilities. The last asks for ways to limit burnout, injuries, and early focus on a single sport. Older topics stay, such as using the Presidential Fitness Test as the main way to earn a fitness award. No school, state, or family would have to act on any of it. The bill adds no new money. Health and Human Services would cover costs from funds Congress already gives it. The council could also accept money from a private fitness nonprofit that Congress set up in 2010.

Congress's official summary of this bill still describes an earlier version of the text, so we have left it out here. You can read it on Congress.gov.
