YourVoice.Now Summary

Surviving spouses of veterans killed in active military service, as well as certain spouses of disabled veterans, would become eligible for job-placement assistance through the VA's Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program under the Gold Star and Surviving Spouse Career Services Act. Previously, only veterans themselves qualified for services from this program, which connects people to employment resources and vocational rehabilitation. Gold Star spouses — those who lost a partner serving in the military — are among those newly covered. The bill passed the Senate in December 2025.
