Foreign Robocall Elimination Act

YourVoice.Now Summary

The Federal Communications Commission would be required to create an interagency task force to study illegal robocalls — especially those made from outside the United States — and recommend ways to stop them under the Foreign Robocall Elimination Act. The task force would include representatives from federal agencies, phone companies, technology firms, and consumer advocates. Within about a year of being established, it would submit a report to Congress covering which foreign countries originate the most illegal calls, how much financial harm and identity theft results, and what technical and legal tools could help. The task force would dissolve 90 days after delivering its report.

Congressional Summary
