More about this bill

Most people will see no change in daily life. This new law changes the status of one historic house in Leesburg, Virginia. The President signed it on September 25, 2026. The General George C. Marshall House is now an “affiliated area” of the National Park System. That means a partner site, not a federal park. A private group, the George C. Marshall International Center, is its manager. The Interior Department must sign a deal with the group that spells out who does what. Interior may also offer expert help. It may sign deals to help pay for upkeep, signs, and marketing. The law sets aside no money and names no dollar limit. Interior cannot buy property at the site. It cannot take over paying to run the place.

Congressional Summary
