When veterans with service-connected disabilities apply for housing assistance programs, their disability compensation payments would no longer count as income, making it easier for them to qualify for help. The bill also requires a government agency to review how the Department of Housing and Urban Development handles disability compensation across all its programs and report back on any inconsistencies.
